Pal-AHK (Palmitoyl Tripeptide-3) is a synthetic lipopeptide composed of the alanine-histidine-lysine tripeptide conjugated to a palmitic acid chain, enhancing lipophilicity for improved penetration and absorption while retaining the biological activity of copper-binding AHK. With a molecular weight of 592.80 g/mol, it modulates fibroblast and endothelial cell activity, stimulating proliferation and increasing collagen type I production in dermal fibroblasts by upregulating growth factors and activating MMPs for tissue remodeling. In hair follicle research, it promotes dermal papilla cell proliferation via MAPK/ERK pathway, inhibits apoptosis by increasing Bcl-2/Bax ratio, and influences growth factor secretion by increasing VEGF and decreasing TGF-β1 for follicle vascularization and growth.
