Vilon (Lys-Glu) is a synthetic dipeptide that interacts directly with chromatin to induce decondensation of tightly packed heterochromatin, reactivating genes silenced with age in immune cells through epigenetic regulation without activating genes that should remain silent. With a molecular weight of 257.30 g/mol, it activates lymphocytes and splenocytes by reactivating ribosomal genes and increasing CD5+ T-cell propagation in the thymus, reducing spontaneous tumor prevalence and growth in bladder cancer models. It alters gene expression in the heart, reduces TGF-β1 concentrations in kidneys improving hemostasis, enhances muscle contractile force, preserves tissue structure, improves gastrointestinal barrier function, and counteracts radiation-induced damage to thymus and spleen.
