GHRP-2 (Pralmorelin) is a synthetic pentapeptide that functions as a potent ghrelin receptor agonist, binding to Growth Hormone Secretagogue Receptors (GHS-Rs) in the pituitary and hypothalamus to trigger a substantial, pulsatile release of growth hormone (GH) from anterior pituitary cells, up to 181-fold in some studies. With a molecular weight of 817.9 g/mol, its research applications include promoting muscle growth by stimulating protein synthesis and suppressing atrophy-related proteins like atrogin-1 and MuRF1.
