GHK Basic is the non-copper-bound form of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, a naturally occurring fragment within type I collagen and SPARC that acts as an endogenous signaling molecule liberated during tissue injury to regulate gene expression and reset aging cells toward a more youthful state. With a molecular weight of 340.4 g/mol, it upregulates hundreds of genes involved in tissue repair, DNA repair, antioxidant defense, and the ubiquitin-proteasome system while downregulating pro-inflammatory genes. It accelerates wound closure and reduces infection rates, neutralizes free radicals, reduces pro-oxidant iron release, reverses metastasis-prone gene expression in colorectal cancer, suppresses fibrinogen beta chain to inhibit thrombus formation, and modulates the ubiquitin/proteasome system to reduce age-related decline.
