Chonluten is a cytogenetic peptide complex based on the tripeptide Glu-Asp-Gly that targets bronchial and pulmonary cells by interacting directly with DNA to regulate expression of genes involved in inflammation, antioxidant defense, and cell proliferation. With a molecular weight of 319.27 g/mol, it reduces coughing, asthmatic attacks, and sputum production in chronic bronchitis models by regulating c-FOS to prevent airway wall thickening. Its stress-protective actions involve modulation of heat shock proteins and SOD, and in peptic ulcer models it influences mRNA expression of SOD, TNF-α, and COX-2 for modulating gastrointestinal inflammation and oxidative stress while enhancing physical performance under hypoxic conditions.
